Introduction
Dr. Rajnish Raj is a certified psychiatrist who has undergone extensive education in clinical psychiatry and neuropsychiatric conditions. He earned his MBBS degree and finished his internship in 2021, after which he worked at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. There, he handled a wide range of challenging clinical cases within a rigorous academic setting.
Dr. Raj earned his MD in Psychiatry from the Government Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences Kashmir (IMHANS-K), Government Medical College, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. This institution is a Centre of Excellence under India’s National Mental Health Programme and is known for its high patient volume, comprehensive adult psychiatry services, specialized addiction treatment center, active consultation-liaison psychiatry unit, and advanced treatments including Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant conditions. Additionally, the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry services there have partnered with UNICEF-supported community mental health initiatives.
Dr. Raj has extensive experience treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions in patients of all ages and maintains active involvement in academic and research pursuits. Dr. Raj has authored several research papers and case reports published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, which have been cited by other researchers. Additionally, he has presented clinical cases and research findings at various national and zonal conferences, demonstrating a sustained commitment to academic psychiatry and evidence-based clinical practice.
Dr. Raj currently holds the position of Editor at BMC Psychiatry (Springer Nature), an international psychiatry journal. Additionally, Dr. Raj has served as an article editor for Frontiers in Psychiatry and acts as a peer reviewer for numerous national and international journals in the fields of psychiatry and psychology.
